We've been swamped with teenage girls. Giggly, floaty, fragrant creatures. I would NEVER admit to having favourites but I do understand girls better. Boys, whilst being highly amusing, are just from another stratosphere . My son has returned from playing tennis, laid on the sofa [ it was five hours worth of hitting] and tried to charm his way round each girl that passed his throne to a) turn the TV on for him, b) pass him a chocolate muffin which is only five feet away in the kitchen and c) get him a drink. I'm pleased to say that all resisted his charms. Rather than rise from his prone position he has gone without and gone to sleep.
When he turned his attention to me, saying that if I loved him I would run around and do his bidding. I reiterated that I do love him and that is why I wouldn't be performing any subservient tasks, because he is in training. No woman wants a slob for a mate and that, as I’m keen to see the back of him one day, it’s in his best interest if I don't. Cruel, but I feel, infinitely fair.
