HELL NO!
This year Choices is published as an e-book and in paperback, Love, Suzi x is out with agents (keep your fingers crossed for me someone wants it) and my eldest daughter about to travel to the Far East this time (I will not cry in the departure lounge at the airport). East is East is established and growing as a result of my networking and there is marginally less dust and fluff on the photo frames but the fridge is stocked.
Just look what I have achieved? Even when another reject letter came through the door I refused to pull the duvet over my head and weep (I thought about it - but only for a morning).Who knows what I will be writing about this time next year? That’s why you must never give up and always move forward even if you can’t see a way through.
When I think of my bucket list, it is overflowing. I want to taking singing lessons, learn the flute, read all the books on my waiting list, finish my third manuscript, discover more cities in Europe, climb the Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica and learn the rest of Blake’s Songs of Innocence and Experience off by heart to recite from the top of a mountain after which I will ski down and drink gluhwein.
Sometimes it is important to take stock of where you are so you can see what you have achieved and where you want to go – my grey hairs are trying their utmost to tell me my time is running out but, to hell with them – if I cover them up - I don’t have to listen.
So keep your hopes high and never, ever give up!
Teresa x
PS. I was also about to go on a romantic weekend to Monet’s gardens in France with Nick, this time last year – sadly not even a tent in Torbay’s on the cards! Ah well – all part of life’s rich tapestry eh?
